How replacement intelligence is verified

The database separates manufacturer facts from inferred compatibility. A model can be published without a replacement candidate; uncertainty is preferable to an invented match.

Source hierarchy

Manufacturer product pages, manuals and official cross-reference material are preferred. Official distributor documentation can supplement those sources. Secondary sources are labeled and are not enough by themselves for a verified replacement relationship.

Model-specific vs family-wide data

Some manufacturer pages publish a unique value for each model or size, while other values apply to an entire product family. Family-wide ranges are labeled explicitly and should not be interpreted as the exact configured value for every unit in that family.

Replacement confidence

Verified means an authoritative source supports the replacement relationship. Strong means multiple relevant specifications align with defensible evidence. Modified requires an identified physical or electrical change. Candidate is research-only and is never presented as a guaranteed fit.

Group transitions

When a manufacturer announces that a legacy family transitions to several newer models without mapping them one-to-one, we store that as a transition notice rather than inventing individual compatibility edges.

Safety boundary

This database is a sourcing and research aid, not an engineering approval. Final suitability should be confirmed against the application, manufacturer documentation and a qualified supplier or engineer where appropriate.
