Bosch dishwasher E15: water-protection warning and next steps
E15 is a water-protection warning. Bosch describes water detected in the base as the trigger; that identifies a condition requiring attention, not the leak source or a failed component. Because finding the source can require access beneath the appliance, stop operation and use Bosch's model-specific service instructions.
Safety boundary
- Do not continue operating the dishwasher while E15 is active.
- Avoid touching wet electrical connections or moving a hard-wired appliance.
- Do not remove base panels or bypass the water-protection switch.
Bosch says the safety switch has detected water in the dishwasher base. The display does not identify the source of water or authorize a particular part replacement.

Stop the cycle and switch the dishwasher off.

If it is safe, close the water-supply valve; do not reach behind a wet or electrically unsafe appliance.

Record the full model number, displayed code, and any visible water location.

Do not tilt the dishwasher to clear the code: that can move water without resolving the leak source.

What E15 does and does not establish
The code establishes that the base safety switch sensed water. It does not identify whether water came from a hose, seal, internal fitting, oversudsing, or another source, and it is not evidence that a pump or sensor should be replaced.
