Samsung RF28K9070SR/AA refrigerator water filter: HAF-CIN / HAF-CIN/EXP
Samsung’s official Canadian HAF-CIN compatible-model list explicitly includes the complete model RF28K9070SR/AA; Samsung’s model support page independently identifies that exact appliance string. Samsung’s official HAF-CIN filter compatibility list explicitly names RF28K9070SR/AA, and Samsung support has a model-specific record for the appliance. Samsung’s US product page uses the compatible-family pattern RF28K9070** and gives HAF-CIN/EXP’s 300-gallon capacity. Use the HAF-CIN family only where the full model and installed filter agree; HAF-QIN is a different family. This entry applies only to the complete model string RF28K9070SR/AA; the filter family is not a brand-wide fit rule.
Safety boundary
- Use the complete model RF28K9070SR/AA when checking Samsung support; the HAF-CIN cartridge is a distinct family from HAF-QIN.
- Follow Samsung’s exact manual for filter location and reset. The manufacturer replacement guide describes closing the water supply as directed, turning the old filter to unlock it, and seating/locking the replacement without force.
- Flush as directed after installation, then check the housing for leakage before resuming use.
Compatibility requires a direct model listing, explicit supersession, or equivalent manufacturer evidence.
Required identifiers
- Complete refrigerator model from the appliance label: RF28K9070SR/AA
- Water-filter cartridge marking: HAF-CIN/EXP
- Samsung HAF-CIN product name may appear as HAF-CIN or HAF-CIN/EXP; match the installed cartridge family and Samsung model page.
Compatibility rules
- Samsung’s official Canadian HAF-CIN compatible-model list explicitly includes the complete model RF28K9070SR/AA; Samsung’s model support page independently identifies that exact appliance string.
- Samsung’s Canadian list explicitly names this exact model. Regional catalog evidence is preserved as manufacturer-published evidence; check the user’s label and use a Samsung North American fit lookup if the appliance’s region differs.
- Samsung’s manufacturer HAF-CIN model list explicitly includes RF28K9070SR/AA; this is stronger than appearance-based or third-party fit. Keep the claim to this complete model string and filter family.
Never assume
- The HAF-CIN/EXP fits every Samsung refrigerator or another model just because its number looks similar.
- Do not cross-fit HAF-CIN and HAF-QIN just because both are Samsung cartridges.
- A certification or contaminant-reduction claim covers only the contaminants and conditions listed by the manufacturer; it does not make unsafe or unknown-quality water safe.
- A bypass plug, filter housing, head, or manifold is a different part from the replaceable cartridge.

Cartridge specifications and limits
Samsung lists 300-gallon capacity for HAF-CIN and recommends regular replacement at approximately six months. Filter certification/contaminant claims are tied to the manufacturer’s page and named conditions and should not be generalized to every contaminant or water quality.
Replacement and fit boundary
Samsung’s replacement instructions say to shut off water where directed, unlock the old cartridge counterclockwise, install the HAF-CIN cartridge, and lock clockwise; flush and reset only as the exact refrigerator manual specifies.
