Frigidaire filter light reset: ULTRAWF and WF3CB
The Frigidaire PureSource Ultra and PureSource 3 sheets describe replacement reminders and a reset after cartridge replacement. Identify the family first: the labels differ, and the exact refrigerator manual determines the control to use. Resetting a light does not replace or repair a cartridge.
Safety boundary
- Stop dispensing if water leaks. Avoid wet outlets and shut off an accessible water supply only when safe and consistent with the model instructions.
- Use the exact model manual for cartridge access. Do not pull the refrigerator out, open panels, force a cartridge or modify the water plumbing for these checks.
Procedure
- Identify the documented family
Read the installed cartridge code. This guide covers ULTRAWF and WF3CB indicator guidance only; use the exact manual for FPPWFU01/PurePour or an unfamiliar control.
- Respond to the reminder
ULTRAWF uses yellow for nearing replacement and red for replacement. WF3CB documentation also uses ORDER with yellow and REPLACE with red. Confirm the actual display in your model manual.
- Replace and flush before resetting
Fit the verified matching cartridge and perform its specified flush. Stop if water leaks or the cartridge cannot be seated normally.
- Use the model's reset control
The two performance sheets describe holding the indicator button for approximately 3–10 seconds. Use the exact manual to identify the button and applicable duration; do not guess a universal button combination.
Does resetting the light mean the filter is renewed?
No. Resetting acknowledges the replacement reminder. It does not restore the old cartridge, resolve a leak or establish filtration performance. Reset after completing the actual replacement and the applicable flushing instructions.
Why might the button or label differ?
These are two cartridge-family performance sheets, not manuals for every Frigidaire control panel. Use the refrigerator's exact Use & Care Guide to confirm the control. A different layout belongs to that model's instructions rather than an improvised sequence from another refrigerator.
