LiftMaster 8155W accessory compatibility: Wi-Fi board and sensor generations
The 8155W is a 1/2-HP AC belt-drive Wi-Fi model, distinct from the non-W 8155. Its exact parts page lists Wi-Fi board 050ACTBMC and two sensor-generation entries: 041-0365-000 sensor eyes/brackets and 2021-present 041-0136 sensors with 041-0155-000 brackets. The compatible-board page says 050ACTBMC has a yellow Learn button and is limited to compatible openers manufactured 2011–2022. Use the 8155W manuals/guide and match sensor parts to the installed generation.
Safety boundary
- Keep people, pets, and vehicles clear of the moving door; follow the exact opener manual for any owner-level operating or reversal checks.
- Never bypass, disconnect, tape over, or defeat safety sensors or automatic reversal. Stop using the opener if a safety device is absent, damaged, or not working.
- Limit owner checks to reading labels, replacing accessory batteries as directed in the accessory manual, and observing visible sensor obstruction/status. Do not open the powerhead or alter wiring.
- Springs, lift cables, drums, door balance, track/tension adjustments, and high-force hardware are technician work. Stop and call a qualified garage-door technician if the door binds, hangs crooked, feels heavy, or has a broken spring/cable.
Compatibility requires a direct model listing, explicit supersession, or equivalent manufacturer evidence.
Required identifiers
- Complete model label exactly 8155W; do not drop W or substitute 8155/81550
- Receiver-board label/year if troubleshooting radio behavior; board 050ACTBMC has a 2011–2022 condition
- Sensor kit/bracket markings: 041-0365-000 vs 041-0136 / 041-0155-000
- Remote label; the 8155W Product Guide identifies the pack-in 893LM remote
- Exact manual version linked from the model page
Compatibility rules
- The OEM 8155W parts page directly lists board 050ACTBMC, sensors 041-0365-000, kit 041-0136, and brackets 041-0155-000 under exact model 8155W.
- The 050ACTBMC part page explicitly lists 8155W as compatible and limits the board to compatible AC Wi-Fi openers manufactured after 2011 through 2022; it features a yellow Learn button.
- The 8155W product guide identifies its remote/control and Security+ 2.0 radio data; use the source guide, not the base 8155's G891LMMC listing, for the W model.
- Chamberlain/LiftMaster says 041-0155-000 brackets are for 041-0136 sensors only; do not pair them with older sensor generation based on appearance.
Never assume
- 8155W is the same as 8155 base model
- A 2021-present sensor-bracket part number is universal for older sensors
- The 050ACTBMC yellow Learn-button/year details describe every historical 8155W board; verify the installed board/model year
- A radio/no-close symptom justifies an owner opening the motor head or replacing the board
The W suffix changes the record
LiftMaster's parts page identifies 8155W as an AC belt-drive Wi-Fi opener and supplies a separate parts diagram. It lists receiver-board part 050ACTBMC and does not make base 8155 part numbers interchangeable.
The exact model page links the Wi-Fi opener owner's manual and user guide. Preserve W on the label when searching manuals or parts.
Match the radio-board generation
LiftMaster lists 050ACTBMC as compatible with 8155W and states the board is for compatible models manufactured 2011–2022; the replacement board has a yellow Learn button. The exact installed board/year remains necessary before treating this number as the right service replacement.
The 8155W Product Guide identifies included remote 893LM. Do not transplant the base 8155 page's G891LMMC listing into this model.
Safety sensor generations are not a visual interchange
- 8155W parts list includes 041-0365-000 sensor eyes and brackets.
- It also lists 041-0136 sensors and 041-0155-000 brackets as 2021-to-present kit components.
- LiftMaster's 041-0155-000 page says these brackets are compatible only with 041-0136 and not older sensors.
- If the installed sensors/brackets are different, use the exact model parts diagram and ask a technician rather than mixing generations.
Owner-level symptom checks
For a remote issue, record the full model/remote labels, check the remote battery by its guide, and use the 8155W manual's programming guidance. For a no-close issue, only observe obvious beam blockage and indicator state. Never bypass safety reversal or open the powerhead; persistent faults or abnormal door movement need service.
