Linear LDCO800 backup battery fit: verify the exact board revision
For the exact Linear LDCO800, Nice/Linear lists BBU as the separate battery-backup unit and says the BBU integrates with LDCO800 operators. The BBU product page calls out plug-and-play compatibility with new LDCO800 units using control board HAE00061; the older installation document says some retrofit units may need the newer HAE00061 board, while the 221377 Rev-S replacement-parts list names HAE00077 as an LDCO 800/801 BBU-compatible control board. The OEM documents do not reconcile these board references. Confirm the existing model and board revision with an authorized Linear service provider before choosing a BBU or board. This lookup intentionally excludes installation instructions.
Safety boundary
- Use the exterior operator label and service records; do not remove the powerhead cover to identify internal board numbers.
- Do not open the operator or install the backup unit, handle battery wiring, or replace a controller board. Have an authorized Linear service provider check fit and install internal components.
- Keep safety beams and automatic reversal enabled; never bypass them. Stop use and call a qualified technician if entrapment protection is missing or fails an owner-level manual test.
Compatibility requires a direct model listing, explicit supersession, or equivalent manufacturer evidence.
Models explicitly covered
These model identities have the source evidence listed below. Read the part decision and suffix limits before ordering.
Required identifiers
- Complete operator model label exactly LDCO800; do not substitute LDCO801 or LDCO850
- Exact part sought: BBU backup module or a controller-board service replacement
- Any controller-board revision/part number recorded by a qualified service provider; do not open the powerhead to check
- Country/region where the operator is installed
Compatibility rules
- The Nice/Linear LDCO800 product page describes battery backup as optional and sold separately.
- The Nice/Linear BBU accessory page identifies the exact accessory as BBU for LDCO800 and says it integrates with Linear LDCO800 operators.
- The same BBU page calls out plug-and-play with new LDCO800 operators using control board HAE00061 and notes field retrofit capability for LDCO800/LDCO801.
- The 2012 BBU instructions say the BBU is designed for LDCO800 and every LDCO800 is compatible; for retrofit installations, they mention replacing the controller with newer HAE00061.
- The 221377 Rev-S parts list names a BBU unit for the 800/801 group and separately lists HAE00077 as the LDCO 800/801 BBU-compatible control board. The documents do not reconcile HAE00061 vs HAE00077; this record does not assert they are interchangeable or supersessions.
Never assume
- LDCO800 includes a battery-backup module as standard equipment; the OEM product page says it is optional.
- A BBU accessory listing means an older operator is ready for plug-and-play installation without checking its board generation.
- HAE00061 and HAE00077 are interchangeable, interchangeable across every LDCO model, or one is a current replacement for the other.
- LDCO850, which the OEM product page describes as having integrated backup, needs the LDCO800 BBU.
- An OEM parts listing establishes present stock, serial/build fit, warranty applicability, or homeowner installation suitability.
LDCO800 backup is an optional separate accessory
- The exact LDCO800 product page says a separate optional battery backup is available.
- The OEM calls the backup accessory BBU and identifies it for LDCO800.
- The Rev-S parts table lists a BBU battery-backup unit for the LDCO 800/801 group.
Controller-board references require service confirmation
The BBU accessory page calls out HAE00061 for plug-and-play with new LDCO800 units; the 2012 retrofit manual also references HAE00061. The Rev-S parts list separately names HAE00077 as BBU-compatible for the 800/801 group. These sources do not explain whether one number supersedes the other or which serial/builds need a board change. Ask Linear support or a qualified service provider to check the exact opener and board before ordering.
Owner-safe boundary
This page is fitment identification only. It does not include steps to open the operator or install a battery, wiring harness, controller board, or other internal component.
